Take home a beautiful Ukranian-style egg you created yourself while celebrating the traditional folk art of Pysanky. Pysanky are made using a wax-resist, or batik technique in which designs are written with melted beeswax using a stylus called a kistka. Eggs are dyed in layers, from light to dark, with additional wax applied at each stage. Once the wax is removed, the detailed patterns ae revealed. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn basic techniques while creating your own egg.
All tools and supplies are included. This workshop is open to all ages 13+
Instructor is bilingual.
