Ready to get your hands dirty, again? This 6-week course is designed for beginners who have have taken at least one throwing class. The course focuses on honing your techniques, and will push you to throw larger and more complex pieces. There will also be focus on more advanced decorating technics.

Course information

• Language: This class will be held in French.
• Class timing: Friday from 10:00. to 13:00
• This is a series of six classes starting on Friday May 8th. The last class will be held on June 12th.
• Please note that the cost of the course includes the necessary clay and access to studio tools.
• The class duration of 3 hours includes 30 minutes to clean-up the studio.
• This class is for individuals 16 years old and up.
• Please bring an apron and wear clothing that can be muddied!

Course outline

Course 1: Center and throw larger quantities of clay. Throw larger, wider and taller pieces. (pasta bowls, plates, pitchers).

Course 2: Trimming and surface decoration techniques.

Course 3: Glazing, throwing lidded jars.

Course 4: Trimming and hand-building techniques.

Course 5: Trimming and decoration.

About Rosalie

Originally from Montreal’s South Shore, Rosalie began her artistic path after a short experience working as a makeup artist. She then pursued studies in visual arts and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in art education. After exploring a wide variety of media, she has focused primarily on ceramics for over ten years, while continuing to paint occasionally. She now lives in Chelsea with her husband and their four children.

Prerequisites

You must have taken at least one throwing class, and should be comfortable centering one pound of clay and pulling a cylinder.

Minimum Participation Policy

A minimum of 4 participants is required to hold the workshop. La Fab reserves the right to cancel the event if there are not enough registrations. In this case, a full refund will be issued.

Refund Policy

Full refund minus a $20 processing fee for cancellations made 7 days or more before the event. No refunds possible for cancellations made within 6 days of the event.
