Have tyou always wanted to try the pottery wheel? Here is your chance! This 6-week class will cover the basics of throwing, including centring, pulling cylinders, making mugs, and making bowls. Come explore the many facets of making clay pots on the wheel.
Course information
- Language: This class will be held in both English and French.
- Class timing: Thursdays from 10:00 to 13:00
- This is a series of six classes starting on Thursday, September 17. The last class will be held on October 22.
- Please note that the cost of the course includes the necessary clay and access to studio tools.
- The class duration of 3 hours includes 30 minutes to clean-up the studio.
- This class is for individuals 16 years old and up.
- Please bring an apron and wear clothing that can be muddied!

About Olaf
Olaf de Winter holds a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University and a DEC from the Bonsecours Ceramics Centre. He is a ceramic artist and designer. Born in the Netherlands, he immigrated to Canada at a young age and studied philosophy and history before developing a passion for the ceramic medium. He is the studio manager at La Fab and maintains his practice at his home studio in Rigaud, Quebec.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this class, open to all.
Minimum Participation Policy
A minimum of 4 participants is required to hold the workshop. La Fab reserves the right to cancel the event if there are not enough registrations. In this case, a full refund will be issued.
Refund Policy
Full refund minus a $20 processing fee for cancellations made 7 days or more before the event. No refunds possible for cancellations made within 6 days of the event.
