Create stunning botanical prints using real ferns, leaves, and flowers in this immersive eco-dyeing workshop with Katharine Fletcher. After a short introduction to the technique, Katharine leads a one hour walk (on uneven ground) at Spiritwood, her hobby farm where you will learn identification skills and collect specimens for your artwork. Back in the studio, you’ll arrange gathered materials inside prepared watercolour paper bundles, bind them securely, and watch them transform through a heated dye process using natural elements like iron, onion skins, and avocado pits. While the bundles simmer, relax with a shared lunch break. Then unwrap your results and discover beautifully detailed, one-of-a-kind impressions. Participants will leave with finished prints, practical knowledge, and confidence to continue experimenting. Please bring $15 for additional materials
This workshop is held at Spiritwood Hobby Farm 4316 chemin Steele in Quyon, Quebec
