This 8-week watercolour course is designed to help beginners and those who have some experience to build confidence and develop a strong foundation in the medium. Participants will learn everything they need to get started, from choosing the right supplies to mastering essential techniques such as watercolour washes, brushwork, colour theory, texture, preserving whites, and composition. Through a series of guided projects, including an abstract, a landscape and a still life, students will also learn how to use photographs as a source of inspiration and reference. By the end of the course, each participant will have the skills and confidence to continue their own creative journey in watercolour.

Your instructor will be local artist Jae Shaw. Jae is the past owner and operator of Oxford Mills Art Centre where she taught watercolours for over a decade. She is an award-winning watercolourist and a past member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC) and a past Fellow of the Ottawa Watercolour Society (OWS).
