ART + NATURE : EARTH
Join Sarah in exploring the Environmental Art Movement! In the footsteps of Andy Goldsworthy, Sarah will take children on an artistic journey in nature and challenge them to ponder all of its magical mysteries. This camp will see excursions along community trails, outdoor and landscape painting, making paints and prints out of natural materials, and creating pieces and installations with items found in nature such as leaves, twigs, rocks, pinecones, and more.
CARTOON: DOODLE MAESTROS
With Stephanie as their docent, campers will explore the rich history of cartoons, examining past classics and contemporary favorites to understand how different styles and techniques have shaped the world of animation. Through engaging discussions and demonstrations, campers will gain insights into the diverse approaches used by cartoonists to convey humor, drama, and everything in between. Each day, participants will dive into the captivating art of cartooning, where they’ll learn how to bring characters and stories to life through a few frames of illustrations. From mastering the use of colours to understanding techniques of movement, emotion, and action, campers will embark on an exciting journey of discovery and skill-building. Age 10-13
PHOTOGRAPHY* : TIME CRAFTERS
Let the allure and magic of freezing time in beautiful ways enrapture your child’s imagination! Shawn will introduce kids to the art of photography, exploring the history of photography and its evolution over time. Children will learn about the importance of storytelling through images and the role of photography in capturing moments. They will learn and practice the fundamentals of camera operation, including understanding different types of cameras, adjusting settings such as aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, and proper handling techniques. Campers will engage in creative projects that encourage experimentation and self-expression, and develop their unique photographic style. Ages 10-13
CERAMIC & SCULPTURE : CREATURES
This camp offers a hands-on exploration of pottery making and sculpture for young artists, guided by experienced instructor, Wade, passionate about nurturing creativity. Throughout the camp, children will have the opportunity to delve into the art of pottery making, learning essential techniques such as hand-building and wheel throwing for the older kids. They’ll experiment with various clays and glazes, creating their own unique ceramic pieces, from functional vessels to decorative sculptures. In addition to pottery making, campers will explore the world of sculpture using a variety of materials, including wire, clay, and found objects. They’ll learn sculpting techniques, honing their skills as they bring their ideas to life in three-dimensional form. From whimsical creatures to abstract forms, each child will have the freedom to express themselves creatively.

MIXED MEDIA : MIX IT UP!
This week, Sarah offers kids the opportunity to create a personal artefact from scratch that they will hopefully cherish for years to come. With a cool twist on the latest craze, kids will make a variety of their own textured papers, use a multitude of mixed media techniques such as collage, printmaking, and embroidery, and learn bookmaking techniques of binding and preservation to culminate into a fantastic journal where their own personal artistic journeys can continue to thrive.

Ginie is thrilled to lead campers in interactive games, improvisation exercises, and role-playing activities, where they will learn fundamental acting techniques and enhance their communication skills and imagination. They will explore engaging scripts and discover the joys of storytelling, character development, and dramatic interpretation. From costume design and prop-making to set decoration and stagecraft, this camp also offers various hands-on projects, fostering a deeper appreciation for the behind-the-scenes magic of theatre production. At the end of the week, families and friends are invited to attend a special showcase!

This week with Romi, participants will delve into the intricacies of illustration, learning practical skills to breathe life into their creations. They’ll sharpen their sketching abilities, experiment with colour palettes, and explore techniques for crafting captivating compositions. Through hands-on activities and guided practice, kids will discover the power of visual storytelling and develop a keen eye for detail. True fashion mastery lies in the ability to envision and create. This camp with Emily goes beyond sewing basics, empowering young designers to unleash their imagination through sketching and conceptualization. Through hands-on design projects, campers will bring their fashion visions to life, from initial sketches to finished projects, learning valuable lessons in creativity, problem-solving, and self-expression along the way. Throughout the camp, participants will embark on an exciting journey through the realms of fashion, from mastering essential sewing machine techniques to exploring the intricacies of garment construction. They will explore their skills in pattern-making, fabric selection, and embellishment, learning the secrets of creating pieces that are both stylish and structurally sound.
