With an emphasis on creativity and experimentation, you’ll learn basic drawing techniques, how to adapt a drawing for print, and the fundamentals of block printing using water-based inks. All paper and lino blocks are provided, and you’re welcome to bring your favourite pencils and pens. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity, enjoy the process, and leave with prints you’ll be proud to share.Class taught in English only.

Jamie has been drawing and painting in the Gatineau Hills since 1982. Like many artists in the Outaouais, he is drawn to the natural beauty of his surroundings, and his recent work puts that front and center through some pretty unique media: original block prints on paper and acrylic paintings on lightweight cedar panels salvaged from unrepairable canoes.
