Linocut Printmaking with Jamie Munro

Get inky with linocut artist Jamie Munro in this three-part Monday evening series, April 27, May 4 & May 11. This class is ideal for beginners or anyone with some prior linocut experience who wants to build confidence doing linocut drawings. You’ll focus on creating and transferring images to lino tiles and use a various colour inks in your prints. Techniques that demonstrate movement and depth will also be taught.  Expect a relaxed, creative atmosphere with plenty of room to experiment. All materials are provided—

Jamie has been drawing and painting in the Gatineau Hills since 1982. Like many artists in the Outaouais, he is drawn to the natural beauty of his surroundings, and his recent work puts that front and center through some pretty unique media: original block prints on paper and acrylic paintings on lightweight cedar panels salvaged from unrepairable canoes.
