Introduction au tour de poterie
Ce cours pour débutants vous initie aux principes fondamentaux du travail de l’argile sur le tour de potier.
À la fin du cours, vous aurez créé vos premières pièces sur le tour, vous vous serez familiarisé avec l’ensemble du processus, de l’argile brute à la poterie finie, et vous aurez acquis de l’assurance dans les techniques de base de la poterie. Le cours comprend également une séance d’émaillage, au cours de laquelle vous apprendrez à ajouter les dernières touches décoratives et fonctionnelles à votre travail.
Les pièces finies pourront être récupérées après la dernière cuisson, environ quatre semaines après le dernier cours.
Dans ce cours, vous apprendrez :
– Comment préparer l’argile pour le tournage
– Comment centrer l’argile sur le tour de potier
– La création de formes cylindriques simples
– Les techniques de base pour tailler l’argile
– La manipulation appropriée des outils et la sécurité dans l’atelier
Informations concernant le cours
Langue : Ce cours se déroulera en français avec un soutien en anglais si nécessaire.
Horaire des cours : Les vendredis de 13h à 16h, sauf le 18 avril (vendredi saint).
Il s’agit d’une série de six cours débutant le 21 mars. Le dernier cours aura lieu le 2 mai.
L’argile est incluse ainsi que l’utilisation des outils de l’atelier. Aucune expérience n’est nécessaire. Portez des vêtements confortables que vous n’avez pas peur de salir et apportez une serviette ou un tablier si vous en avez un.

Politique de participation minimum
Un minimum de 4 participants est requis pour tenir l’atelier. La Fab sur Mill se réserve le droit d’annuler l’événement s’il n’y a pas suffisamment d’inscriptions. Dans ce cas, un remboursement complet sera émis.
Politique de remboursement
Remboursement complet moins des frais de traitement de 10 $ pour les annulations faites 7 jours ou plus avant l’événement. Aucun remboursement possible pour les annulations faites dans les 6 jours précédant l’événement.
Introduction to the potter’s wheel
This beginner-friendly class introduces you to the fundamentals of working with clay on the potter’s wheel in a supportive and hands-on environment.
You’ll develop essential skills that will serve as the foundation for your pottery journey. By the end of the course, you’ll have created your first pieces on the wheel, become familiar with the entire process from raw clay to finished pottery, and gained confidence in basic pottery techniques. The course also includes a glazing session, where you’ll learn how to add the final decorative and functional touches to your work.
Finished pieces will be available for pickup after the final firing, approximately four weeks after the last class.
In this course, you will learn:
– How to prepare clay for throwing
– How to centre clay on the potter’s wheel
– Creating simple cylindrical forms
– Basic trimming techniques
– Glazing fundamentals
– Proper tool handling and studio safety
Class information
Language: This class will be held in French with support in English if necessary.
Class timing: Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m., except for April 18 (Good Friday).
This is a series of six classes starting on March 21. The last class will be held on May 2.
Clay is included as well as the use of the tools in the studio. No experience is necessary. Wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and bring a towel or an apron if you have one.

Minimum Participation Policy
A minimum of 4 participants is required to hold the workshop. La Fab sur Mill reserves the right to cancel the event if there are not enough registrations. In this case, a full refund will be issued.

Full refund minus a $10 processing fee for cancellations made 7 days or more before the event. No refunds possible for cancellations made within 6 days of the event.
